About Me.

Well hello there.  I’m Sarah.  I live in Whistler and sometimes my friends call me Leishner. My family lives in Fernie. I am originally from Alberta and my first word was Hibou.

I came to Whistler a few years ago after what I consider a pretty successful career as a snowboard coach.  While living in Edmonton and then in Calgary, I mountain biked as a weekend warrior and I was married to my job.  I have coached athletes at Junior and Senior World Championship events and I have written 6 figure business plans for bike park development.  I moved here to see what I could do in sport – not as a coach or as a sport administrator, but as a rider and an athlete.  What has it resulted in?  I work in the winters as a member of the Whistler Mountain Ski Patrol, I ride every day in the summers on my bike, I train with Strand Training and I work at Fanatyk Co. (a ski and bike shop in the Whistler Village).  Sometimes I coach mountain biking and sometimes I coach other coaches on how to coach biking better (ha!) with Gravity Logic.

I thought I’d get some help from my friend Ian Harker to build this website so I can spend more time writing about my travels, racing, riding and living in Whistler.  It should be full of stories about shredding the Whistler Bike Park, trails around BC and hopefully I’ll get some photos up this summer that are worth taking a look at.  My plan is to also write about killing it at a race or two this season!

Surf around, tell me what you think.  I’m just pumped to have an outlet to run my mouth like an out of control teen.
